Aurora Chamber Singers Audition Process<\/b><\/p>\n

Thank you for your interest in joining the Aurora Chamber Singers! We are a dedicated, collaborative ensemble committed to performing high-quality choral repertoire with artistry, intention, and joy. We welcome singers of all backgrounds who are comfortable with part-singing, vocal independence, and musical growth. Auditions are required for all new members.<\/p>\n

Audition Components<\/b><\/h3>\n

Each audition will last approximately 10\u201312 minutes and includes the following:<\/p>\n

  1. Vocal Warm-Ups & Range Check<\/b>
    \n<\/b>The Artistic Director will guide you through a series of short vocal exercises to assess your range, tone quality, and flexibility. This is a relaxed opportunity to get your voice moving and centered.<\/li>\n
  2. Amazing Grace<\/b>
    \n<\/b>You will be asked to sing a verse of Amazing Grace<\/a> a cappella in a key of your choice. This familiar tune helps us hear your natural voice and interpretive approach.<\/li>\n
  3. Sight-Reading<\/b>
    \n<\/b>You will be given a few short passages to sight-read. You may sing on a neutral syllable or whatever you are most comfortable with. This portion helps us assess your comfort with learning new music quickly and independently.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
